I went shopping the other day (a very guilty pleasure) and bought 1 skirt and 3 shirts. The skirt is cotton, long, and colorful. The shirts are linen, light, and loose. I plan to wear them a lot. I discovered that none of the skirts I already own are ones I would want to take with me, which is a shame. They are all too warm, or too short.
I am bringing 6 books to The Gambia. 2 are required text books. The other 4 are:
1. Woman: An Intimate Geography
2. Love in the Time of Cholera
3. Watership Down
4. My Antonia, at the recommendation of my mother
All are secondhand paperbacks, and I would be comfortable leaving any of them behind. Well, I'd rather hang on to Woman: An Intimate Geography. It seems like a book that would be fun to refer to every now and then. I think I'll save it for the plane back so I have no excuse to leave it.
