I am feeling much better. I was a mess this morning, tears and all, but I am much better now.
I decided not to go to the garden/Sanneh Kunda today. Instead, I stuck around to nurse Anita some more. Bill and I took her to a clinic in Banjul. She wasn't looking too good, and she hadn't eaten since Tuesday, and she's pretty dehydrated, so they decided to stick an IV in her. And so I spent my late morning/early afternoon reading Twilight to her and holding her IV bag when she had to use the bathroom. Taking care of people tends to calm me down. Reading calms me down. Standing still and holding things is pretty chill. I think I can safely say that my taking Anita to the clinic was good for both of us.
After returning to Happy Camp and hanging out for a while, Liam and I headed to Serekunda market. I wanted to buy fabric. He wanted to buy a Koran. We were a match made in heaven. I got lots of fabric, which, if you recall, was the main thing I wanted to purchase during my stay here. Liam got a Koran for much less than the original asking price, which was rather bold of him. I mean, really, how much can you haggle on the word of Allah?
