I'm working on my paper. Bill graciously gave me an extension. Or perhaps Bill is just Gambian at heart and doesn't care about deadlines that much. Either way, I've got some time.

I'll be heading to Philadelphia with my sister tomorrow. We're helping her move into her new apartment, where she will stay for the duration of her PhD work. The amount of stuff she has is staggering. We rented a van to move her (and me, on Sunday), but my parents have already taken a load in a car, and a load before that in a U-Haul truck. How big is this apartment, anyway?

Saturday, we're heading back here and packing me up to move on Sunday. My parents are hoping to get me to campus right around 10:00 Sunday, which leaves us plenty of time to get all my stuff in place before heading out for lunch and perhaps some last-minute shopping. We went to the commissary (military grocery store) earlier today to stock Katie up on all the edible essentials. I got some goodies for my house while we were there, but my parents will probably think of things I "need" once they're face to face with my empty kitchen. My house mates and I put in a (huge!) bulk order, so it won't be empty for long, but hey. I'm not going to complain about free food. Or, at least, I won't complain much.

Oh. For my paper, I've been going through photos of the Sanneh family in Bakau, and here's my favorite. I'd forgotten about it, but I couldn't help but smile once I found it again. Those boys are dressed in their Friday best and they look great.
