I slept in the basement last night. I didn't feel like clearing off my bed, and all my pillows were still downstairs from the Rocky Horror sleepover. Besides, the basement is cozier than my bedroom is.
I woke up, grabbed a bowl of Cheerios, and hung out with Manifesta. It's a decent read so far. I'm still fairly early in it, so it hasn't gotten too deep. I'm sure it will eventually. I look forward to it.
Eventually, I headed upstairs to eat lunch (falafel and hummus in a pita! yum!) and watch Red Dawn with my sister. That movie is ridiculous. Oh, Mr. Swayze. You heartthrob, you. I watched it with Flynn earlier this semester, but I'd missed the beginning. The scene with the paratroopers dropping around the high school was so intense! The teacher trailing off during his lecture was perfect.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to finish the movie. I had to head to the clinic to get my ankle checked out. The nurse who took my vitals asked me whether I'd had any children and then told me I had a nice flat stomach. She also told me I have very good blood pressure. The nurse practitioner who checked out my ankle couldn't figure out what was wrong and gave me a referral to the physical therapist. So I'm supposed to call on Tuesday to make an appointment. Oh, the military medical system. It's free, so I don't think I can complain too much, but still. So many referrals!
And now I'm here, waiting to go to dinner with my parents, talking to folks online, and applying to the Sierra Club apprenticeship program. Whoa. Applying for job/internship things? This is nuts.
I was pondering my life the other day and trying to figure out what I want to do. I still have no idea where I'll be a year from now, but I figure I might as well explore my options. An apprenticeship at the Sierra Club could be a really great experience. Then again, there are lots of other things that could be equally great experiences. So I guess I should just apply/look into as many of them as possible. Ah, the exploration of alternative futures. What a strange thing to spend my time on.
