I have a purring cat on either side of me. I have decided that my life is good.

I'm more than halfway through spring break. I've been poking at my SMP for a good chunk of my time off. I've also been spending a lot of time with Matt. (One of these things is much more pleasant than the other-- can you guess which is which?) I am still frustrated with my project/my adviser, but I'm trying to get over it and just finish the damn thing.

Mysteriously, I found something that I gave to Flynn sitting on a shelf at Matt's mother's condo. Yes, the exact same thing, not some twin of mass production. It's the mechanism of a music box that my grandfather gave me. I took it out of the box because it sounded horrible in there. It plays Fly me to the Moon. I'll have to ask Matt about it.

I helped Brian with Command Center on Monday. I think we finished tearing down the plaster. He's going to hire a contractor to put up the sheet rock, and then it should be ready for things like a kitchen. How exciting. I was planning to help him out today, too, but he didn't pick up when I called him a bit ago. I am trying to convince him that I'm the person he wants to fill the third room. Cross your fingers. At the very least, he's promised me a plot in his yard for me to garden in, so I'm going to start some tomatoes and peppers when I get back to school. My heart is aflutter just thinking about growing these babies.

Speaking of babies, I watched Evan (my favorite 4-year-old) on Monday night. It was good to see him again. Matt babysat with me and watching him play with Evan was insane! He worked in a preschool for a while, and he's so good at it! Of course, bedtime was never part of the preschool curriculum, so I got a bit of time in the spotlight, too. I've always liked reading bedtime stories to Evan.

In other news, I got a Couchsurfing request, which is novel enough to say something about. I mean, honestly, who wants to couchsurf in Nowhere, MD? Some photographer from New York on his way to Florida, obviously. Here, look at this really cute photography project he started recently: Pictures in Bed.

(Also of note: Google Analytics tells me I've gotten 13 visits to this blog via feministe.us. Whaaaat? Well, cool, it looks like a good site/blog, but... what? Internet, you are so mysterious.)

Glad you enjoyed your Evan time :)
Awesome that the house has come through, and I am hoping for the perfect job too. Hang in there.
