I don't remember what I dreamt about last night, but I woke myself up laughing.
Yesterday evening, I officially became a graduate student by attending my first class. How exciting. I was the only person in the class who wasn't currently teaching, I think. It created a strange dynamic when we split up into groups to come up with example lessons illustrating the principles we'd just covered. As in, I disagreed with one of my team mates, and I definitely felt a, "who the hell does she think she is?" vibe. Ah well. I'm sure I'll hit my stride soon enough. I may not have experience, but I'm plenty bright.
After I got home, I cleaned! Isn't that thrilling? I hung up a bunch of clothes, mostly. I also made a thing to hold magazines and newspapers in the bathroom, because I suddenly have subscriptions to magazines. And I always want to read things in the bathroom.
After waking up (laughing) this morning, I hopped on my bike and got myself to the offices of Food and Water Watch, where I stuffed envelopes. What a good little volunteer I am. It was nice to talk to new people who are passionate about doing things.
Class at 4:30. Foundations of Education. That sounds like more of a beginner class, right? So maybe I won't be the only non-teacher in there. Cross you fingers.
