The hammocks goal for this week was 150 hammocks. I believe this is the highest so far this season.
The hammocks week ends on Wednesday night. It didn't look like we were going to make it. As of Tuesday night, we had about 50 hammocks left to make. As of Wednesday dinner, we had about 20 left. After dinner, people piled into the hammocks shop. There wasn't a single jig left unoccupied-- people were weaving, tying, inspecting, rolling, bagging, etc. We were pep talking each other and cheering quietly when another hammock made its way onto the finished racks.
I ended up tying on fabric beds in TCLR with Rayne because all of the other jigs were full. (TCLR is a room adjacent to the hammock shop with a spare jig in it.) We had a lovely conversation to the sounds of the latest trashy dance music, all while banging out hammock after hammock. We were knot tying superstars.
When Rayne and I tied off the last fabric bed in the shop around 9:30, we were two hammocks short of the goal. Two hammocks were being woven at that very moment. I left feeling very accomplished and satisfied with my part in preventing quota from going up. I like that people pull together.
