My main excuse for not updating my blog for almost a month is that Keegan and I broke up. It was sort of a mutual decision, although we had very different emotions about it at the time and have continued to feel differently since then.

We had been moving toward ending our relationship for a while, I suppose, although it didn't look like that while it was happening. We decided a month or so before we broke up that we weren't going to married. I had a few weeks to mourn for our plans together before we decided to completely break up. I guess that made it a gentler transition.

I am glad that I worked on building a network of friends before our breakup; it was very helpful to feel that there were people to whom I could talk. I have recently had a lot of energy for reaching out to people. How helpful.

Other things that have happened in the past month:

-I hosted a tiny show in my room. I played some of my favorite kind of sad songs by other people. The show was called Melancholy Covers. There were about 9 people piled onto my bed, and it gradually turned into a cuddle party after the music was done.

-I carved a stamp, which is something I've been wanting to try for months.

-I decided to take a hiatus from philosophy club, because it's hard to have discussions with Keegan and I'm not a big fan of our current reading.

-Unicorn School got a new toddler care person. They are taking the place of our regular Monday person, who mysteriously left the community.

-A few friends and I started Disney Club. We are watching the major animated Disney films (in chronological order), singing along, and discussing them from feminist/post-colonialist/anti-racist perspectives. It's fun. We have watched Snow White, Pinocchio, and Dumbo so far. Next up: Bambi.

-I completed my running program and am now capable of running for 30 minutes straight. I ate a Cadbury Creme Egg to celebrate. Since then, I've been doing the "half block," which is about 3 miles long.
