Did I mention that I'm home safely? I have, in fact, been home safely for a little over a week now.
I took the red-eye home, leaving Saturday night. Landed Sunday morning very early (thanks for picking me up from the airport, Ms. Lead!) and struggled to stay awake the whole day. I took a hike/walk/stumble-thing through Great Falls so that the sunshine, wind, and hordes of small dogs could keep me awake.
Monday morning saw me beaming down at 3-5 year olds for a music camp. It was adorable. We made funny little musical instruments. We sang some songs. I learned all their names and hugged them when they cried because they missed their moms. TOO CUTE. I usually work with 4th-6th graders, so these little guys just melted my heart.
Over the weekend, my parents returned from their travels. They went to Mongolia. Yeah, that's right, I have the coolest parents. I found a wounded/dying/heat-stroked crow in their front yard. It disappeared over night-- hopefully by its own means rather than by means of a not-so-friendly neighborhood animal.
Today, I started on another music camp, this time with elementary aged kids. Mostly 6-8 year olds. They're less adorable than the tiny guys I had last week, but I still like them. It should be a pretty good week. Good kids.
Also, here's a hilarious peek into my life: I found out that I have a week off next week! I thought I went straight from these camps to teacher work week to the start of school, but it turns out that there's an administrative work week before my teacher work week. BONUS TIME OFF! Clearly, that means I need to head back to Washington State for a week, right? Right. So I bought a ticket. I'll be leaving very early Saturday morning (no, seriously, very early) and returning on the red-eye leaving Seattle Friday night. I'm racking up the frequent flier miles here. Spontaneity is good for the soul, but not for the pocketbook. Whatever. Worth it.
I am so excited about my life. You don't even know how excited I am. Whoa man.
