Whoa! This is my centennial post! That's crazy! I need to use lots of exclamation marks to express my surprise and wonder!

In celebration of reaching this landmark, I decided to make this page prettier. I hope you approve, dear reader. Actually, my sister made it prettier and I made her miso soup. I think it was a fair exchange.

Yesterday, I hopped on the Metro and made my way to College Park for a meeting of the Maryland Student Climate Coalition (MSCC). While the SMCM SEAC group has been in touch with the MSCC, this is the first time that I personally have had contact with them. The general impression I got is that the MSCC has basically decided to throw everything they've got into PowerVote, which is fine by me. I was on board with PowerVote already. Y'all should check out that website and sign up, by the way. It's super righteous. The cool thing is that Steny Hoyer, the representative for Southern Maryland, is also the representative for the area around College Park, one of the schools in the MSCC. Holy moly! Who knew? Talk about a (potentially) handy coalition partner. The whole idea is to put pressure on our elected officials, and the more people we have on our side, the better. More people, more pressure. And College Park is HUGE, so that's a whole bunch of people.

The meeting got me pumped up. I was already pumped from Sprog, so it was more like a continuation of pump. Cool folks. Lots of energy. I am reluctant to personally commit to much within the MSCC, as I think I'm already going to be freaking busy, but I will certainly tell the SEAC core that I think this would be a beneficial coalition to join.

The meeting, by the way, went from 11:00 to 6:00. Well, 6:30. It ran late due to a mix-up in the lunch plans. I'd packed myself a lunch the night before, so everything was great. (I had home-made from-scratch falafel! And strawberries, blackberries, and dates! Yum!) I decided to hang out with Bethany instead of going home, so the two of us talked until fairly late last night and then had a sleepover at her house. I'm so excited to live with her this year!

After a long Metro ride, I returned to Fairfax, where I proceeded to whittle the day away with... I don't even know. I'm not sure what I did today. I have lots to do, though, and I should probably get to it.
