Elizabeth has an 8:00 class Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and I have a 9:20 class. We have only one alarm clock. I figure it makes sense for me to get up in time for her 8:00, but then I have this chunk of time in the morning with nothing to do, except for possibly homework or... work out.

Yesterday, I woke up when Elizabeth did, slid out of bed, put on my running shoes, grabbed my iPod, and went running. Whoa. I feel so good about myself. This is, hopefully, the beginning of an exercise regimen. Right now I kind of suck at running, but it's okay because I'll get better and you have to start somewhere.

I ran a mile. And I actually did run most of it, which is exciting. I'm in better shape now than I was in high school when they had us do the dreaded mile run. (I always used to cheat and only go around the track three times. What a rebel.)

And today, my lower body is very sore. I am looking at this as constructive criticism, straight from my body to me.

Flynn and I were supposed to have a music-making date this morning, but we stayed up very late watching City of God, and we slept over our own appointment. Oh well. There will be ample opportunities this semester, I'm sure.
