It's been quite a while since my last real update, hasn't it? I suppose that posting things written by Eve Ensler and stories about backwards activism doesn't really count. Well, maybe it does. Unclear.

Anyway. Here's the run-down:

Monday: Went for a run in the morning. Went to bio class, went to lab. We collected and ID-ed plants from the border of the North Woods, which really made me want to go see the tree house. My lab partner and I got our plants into a press. Nothing much else of interest happened that I recall. Went to math class. I skipped out on the FUSE meeting because I'm a jerk.

Tuesday: Woke up fairly early to work on transcripts. I finished my first one! Hooray! Transcribing isn't particularly exciting. In fact, it gets annoying pretty quickly. Especially if you've already heard (several times) the stories that the interviewee is telling. And then I went off to voice class, where my pride was slightly bruised. I don't want to talk about it. After working on transcripts a little bit more, I went to meet up with my lab partner to finish up the plant things from Monday. One of our plants pressed beautifully, but the other was still fairly damp. Sigh. And then I had a meeting with my SMP adviser, who still thinks I'm pretty great. Hung out with folks, made some music with Flynn.

Wednesday: Went running in the morning-- I'm officially down to a 10 minute mile! How exciting. It'll get better, but I'm celebrating minor victories along the way. I tried listening to Sleater-Kinney while I ran because Elizabeth is way into them, but it just didn't work out. Back to Bikini Kill and M.I.A. it is, then. Went to bio class. Spent half an hour after class gluing a flattened plant (Commelina communis, to be specific) to a piece of paper. Practiced guitar. Went to guitar class. Baked two cakes: one for our house, one for the SEAC meeting. Went to math class. Hurried to the library to print things for the SEAC meeting, had a pre-meeting meeting at 8:00 to figure out what we were doing, had the real meeting at 9:00. Trained about 40 people on how to do class raps for Power Vote and gave them each at least 25 cards. Came back from SEAC, hung out with folks including Tina. Ate cake.

Thursday: Thursday is so chill. I slept until 10:30. My only commitment today was a meeting at 4:00. I hung out with Flynn, Tina, Elizabeth, etc. Elizabeth and I went grocery shopping and made a trip to the bank. Life is good.

I've been having extensive, pleasant phone conversations just about every day. And I've been making music just about every day. And I've been eating good food every day, and I've been baking every now and then. The weather has been phenomenal. My life is really good.

Tomorrow should be good. The weekend should be good.

Next week will be crazy. A whole bunch of people will be coming to visit, and at least a few of them will be staying at our house, including GPaul. I was super nervous about this a week or two ago, but have since talked with him enough to feel relatively at ease. Everything will be great.
