I have a freshly-planted garden! The veggies have been in the ground for a week or so now, but Matt & I put the herbs in just last night. I have two tomatoes (Brandywine and Black Prince), a pepper (Jalapeno), a couple nasturtiums (because they're pretty, edible, and insect-repellent), basil, sage, rosemary, peppermint, chives, pineapple sage, oregano, and thyme. I'll put in leafy greens later. I ended up not using the tomatoes I started from SESE seed because... well.. it was a cold spring, we didn't have the heat on in our house, and those babies were just unhappy. Instead, I bought plants from a local garden store. I feel pretty good about it. All of the herbs except the chives and the thyme were also purchased as plants. The pineapple sage is an experiment-- I got it at a farmers' market, and I just couldn't resist the seller's enthusiasm. She talked it up pretty well, so I have high hopes. Next on the garden agenda: mulch.
I also have a closet rod and a big ol' bed. It's a queen! I feel like I'm swimming in it. So far it's been great for movie nights and sleepovers.
My friend Brian has a few things of his in my closet. Like, big things that take up half the floor space in there. I need to bug him to take them away so I can start arranging that space. Can you say "milk crate shelves?"
I'm still looking for a job. Lots of spare time on my hands right now.
I'm thinking about being an elementary school teacher. I'm applying to one of the local programs to get my Masters in teaching. I might still be a student after all! I got my PRAXIS Exam study guide in the mail yesterday to start studying. How exciting.
I also got my new camera in the mail yesterday! Look! Pictures!
