Oh goodness, I feel like I've been so busy but now I don't know what to say. I've been to a show or two. I've been to a couple museums. (Including the huge greenhouse on the Mall!) I've scooped a lot of ice cream.
I got my PRAXIS scores back today. I passed with flying colors. Now I'm just waiting to hear from Trinity, and the sooner the better. I need to get my insurance renewed ASAP. How exciting.
I've decided that I want to get better at languages. I picked up two novels in Spanish from a Borders in St Louis, and I'm planning to work my way through them. Matt decided that he wanted to learn Spanish, and I helped him through a few sentences. It was cute.
Matt's back from Europe, by the way. He took lots of pictures. I'm glad to have him here again.
I'm stalking the used bikes on Craigslist so I can pick one out within the next couple days. I plan to ask for said bike for my birthday.
OH! Here's a big one. Here's my tentative life plan. Ready?
Now: It's summertime! Dip ice cream, save up money, hang out with friends.
August: Start at Trinity. Continue to work some and keep saving money. Hang out with friends.
December 2010: Finish at Trinity.
January 2011: Travel!
So traveling. I don't want to start teaching until the fall of 2011, so I'll have the spring and summer to do with as I wish. I was thinking I'd go to the Middle East. I picked up a 4-CD set of Modern Hebrew and an 8-CD set of Conversational Arabic from the library in Fairfax. Languages are neato. (Evidently, there's a mosque on Constitution that offers free Arabic help/instruction!) I don't know whether I'll want to hang out there for six months, or whether I'll want to work my way... north? south? east? Pick a continent. How exciting!

Hi Joanna, it's Florence! I found out about your journal (from facebook? I think?) and have been dropping in for a little while. I just wanted to say that your travel plans sound FANTASTIC and I am super jealous. :-P Also, when were you in St. Louis? I live in Kansas City now! :-)
