I forgot to celebrate my 200th post. Ah, well. This is 201. That's still significant, right?
I watched Twilight last night. I squealed a lot. Man, that movie was totally made to get tweens crushing. I felt pretty absurd, but the twelve year old girl inside me wants to read the rest of the books so I don't have to wait for the movies to find out what happens. Oh, Stephanie Meyer, you crazy Mormon, you. And your waiting-until-marriage propaganda. Yeesh.
In other news, I tore out my tomato plants today and planted some kale. It looked like the tomatoes were actually gearing up for another crop, so I was a bit sad to destroy them. Still, I think I'll be happier with my steady supply of kale this winter than with a couple more tomatoes this fall.
I still need to decide what to do with my basil. Hmm. I think want to make a giant batch of pesto and freeze most of it. This requires lots of kitchen time. And garlic. I suppose I'll manage.
On the roomies front, one of our two candidates dropped out of the running, so I guess our choice has been made. By all accounts, he's a pleasant person, and I'm looking forward to meeting him on Monday at our house dinner. This also means that my Saturday has been freed up, and I'm heading to HHF after all. Neato.
Had dinner with some St Mary's folks last night, most notably Brendan C, who is evidently applying to top law schools. He's "a reformist now." No longer interested in being arrested. Speaking of arrests, a couple people from the action on Monday got arrested for dropping banners. Check out this blog post and this article-- coverage makes events real, after all.
And now I'm going to practice horn for the third day in a row! I'm trying to establish a new habit. Wish me luck.
