Matt drove up to Boston yesterday, and I tagged along. He paid for tolls, I paid for gas, and everything was wonderful. (Buses are way cheaper!) We stopped for dinner in his college town and I had totally tasty chili and sweet potato fries. It was his first time being back since graduating, and he drove me around, pointed at buildings, and told me stories.
It looks like he'll be doing school/research stuff during the days while I'm here, so I'm expecting to have lazy days and busy evenings. I can handle that. There's a used bookstore down the street that I might get myself to eventually. Probably not today. God, I'm lazy. Weather.com tells me it's 30 degrees out and feels like 20. I think I'll stay inside, thanks. I hope that Matt and I can go to the Mapparium while I'm in town.
My kittens turned six months old on Monday. I didn't even really celebrate it, unfortunately. I haven't been feeding them any canned food lately (their favorite) because Tupelo is having digestive troubles, so they didn't even get a tasty treat. I was busy packing and whatnot, so I didn't make a cake or fancy dinner. Oh well. Birthdays were never a big deal in my family; I'm carrying on a tradition here.
Anyway. It's a new year, which is neat. I went to a blue moon-themed party at the Dollhouse (the reincarnation of the Girl Cave) and danced the night away. Keegan and I biked there! It was almost a five mile ride one way, and I thought my thighs were going to explode. I'm going to have thighs of steel eventually, I swear.
I was thinking about resolutions. Sometimes I think New Year's resolutions are a good idea. If nothing else, thinking about them is a good reminder to evaluate one's priorities.
-I would like to get out more/see people more.
-I would like to set and aim to achieve a music-related goal. (I haven't quite figured out what the exact goal should be yet. I might end up with more than one.)
-I would like to start (or maybe just find) a womyn's group. I have a lot of ladies in my life who I would like to see more of. I've also been on a big women's health kick lately, and a lot of women's health literature emphasizes how important it is to have a community of women and to celebrate our bodies, and I don't really have that. So I want to start it!
-I plan to graduate with an MAT in December, and I would like to have a strong idea about what I'm going to do next.
