Unicorn School is less distressing lately. Rick and I have divided the kids up into "very little" and "not so little," which is a great help. Because of the recent rash of dropouts, there's only one kid in the "not so little" group, but I'm OK with that for now. I'm fine with offering private tutoring.

In fact, I think that's what I'll do with the kids who have dropped out, if they're interested. Maybe eventually I can convince them to come on back to the morning thing we have going, whether we call it Unicorn School or not. Personally, I think Twin Oaks Academy has a nice ring to it.

In other news, my mom dropped by today. It was good to see her. My dad was supposed to come down, too, but he was detained by business. She came bearing gifts. I asked for treats. She delivered. I now have a stash of chocolate, dried fruit, nuts, and wine that any communard would envy. I even have a wine rack on which to store my wine. I feel so fancy.

I got trained on two tasks yesterday: kettle clean and auditing. Kettle clean is taking apart a couple giant machines, cleaning them, and putting them back together. It's a tofu task. Auditing is an accounting task. I enjoyed both of these tasks, which bodes well for my future labor.

A couple weeks ago, we had a tofu workers portrait party. I think that eventually our pictures will go on the tofu website. In the meantime, I got some good pictures of myself out of it. That means that I finally have a photo of myself for the Twin Oaks member montage! Check it out.
