Last night, I discovered something: I am far enough away from my bout of Lyme disease that I can play guitar without worrying about terrible wrist pain.

I never quite know what to expect when I sit down with my guitar. It is often soothing and warm. Sometimes it provides me with an outlet for things that can't come out otherwise. Tonight, it was a slightly painful reminder of things I'd rather not deal with right now.

For example, I realized while strumming that I was supposed to be getting married this weekend. How about that?

Now I'm going to shove my personal life aside and tell you about work.

I am thrilled with my new job. The school is gorgeous. My coworkers are happy to have me, treat me like a human, and generally seem to be quirky, pleasant people. Yesterday and today were work days, meaning that it was just us adults in the building. The kiddos will be arriving a week from today. Until then, we are holding meetings and scurrying around making things ready. Montessori is evidently all about the prepared environment, so things have to be very well put together. Everything is beautiful. Everyone seems so human.

We're having a happy hour tomorrow. On Friday, the elementary staff is taking us new folks out to lunch. I feel so welcomed. This school feels like such a good fit. Yes. I am doing something right.

Good luck
