What a pleasant long weekend I had. Sunday was my school's 50th anniversary picnic, complete with some homegrown music and adorable dancing with children. And there were hoops there! A few of the parents asked if I was teaching their kids how to hoop. The true answer is, "Well, yes, if they ask me to teach them during recess."

I had Monday off, thanks to exploration, exploitation, and Columbus. I had brunch with my parents the day before-- thumbs up for big restaurant portions that feed me breakfast the next day. Follow that with a super pleasant friend hangout and watching an amateur soccer game starring a few new acquaintances. I think things are moving in a positive direction here.

Just got back from belly dance class. Hoo boy. My legs are going to be majorly sore for my run tomorrow. This was our fourth class, and we're starting to combine the moves we've been learning. It actually looks like belly dance now! There's this one really great arm/hip combo we were working on tonight that I kind of want to sneakily incorporate into my everyday dancing. I think it would probably look too choreographed for me to just slip it in, honestly, but it looks so good. I wonder whether I could get away with it. Double hip sways with nifty arms! So cool!

I finished that cell model and took it to school, but I forgot to take a picture of it first. Whoops. Maybe I'll get one later. It looks awesome. I made the labels for the organelles today. Jackie almost swooned over it. I'm basically the coolest upper elementary assistant this Montessori school has ever seen.
