Music camp is still going strong. The kids continue to be endearing. The classroom is a bit loud, because we encouraged them to make music and stuff. Funny how that works.
Kid quote of the week: "Ms. Joanna, I've been constipated for a few days, and I just pooped, and I was wondering if it'd be OK if I wrote down what time it is and what it looks like so I'll remember."
In other news, I took a class on aerial silks! It was awesome. It was just an intro class, so we didn't do anything too crazy, but it seems like such a fun medium. The studio is unfortunately far away, and the classes are expensive, so I doubt it'll be something that I do regularly. Still, it was pretty neat. I went with a coworker who has a smartphone, and she snapped a couple pictures. Check it out, man. I sometimes do cool stuff.

When kids say stuff like that, are you able to keep a straight face? I choked on my beverage just reading about it.
Actually, yes. It's one of my Teacher Skills. I might look a little surprised and take a few seconds longer to put together an answer, but yes. I rather calmly told this girl, "Yes, [her name], I think that would be fine. Thank you for asking."
(She asked this during silent reading time, when normally the only work they are allowed to do is reading.)
