Highlights from today:

-I made it through just fine while Ms. Lead was away at a conference. Both the children and I ended the day hale and hearty.

-Today was the second session of health class. We begin each session with answering questions from the anonymous question box.
"[From card #1] Why do we have to do health class? [From card #2] Where does the sperm stay in your body? [From card #3] So you can't wear a condom if you're trying to get pregnant? ... [Gesturing to cards #2 and #3] This is why we have health class. Because we want you to be able to ask questions and get answers."
-A fellow teacher told me this story from her week.
Child: I don't want to do my writing. I don't want to do my work. I don't want to do any of this.
Teacher: That's great! This is an awesome opportunity to practice self-discipline!"
-I facilitated our class community meeting today. Everyone wanted to talk about the assigned seats that we have during circle time, which Ms. Lead and I implemented a few weeks ago in response to the extreme chattiness of our group. After hearing and recording everyone's concerns about the assigned seating, we brainstormed solutions. The students voted to choose which solutions we will focus on implementing. The two that tied for the win:
1. Keep the assigned seating until we are less rambunctious.
2. Just enjoy it.
-I am going to a drag party tonight, and I gave myself a mascara mustache. I also touched up my eyebrows to make them more masculine and capable of brooding.
