Keegan and I returned to the DC area on June 16th. We rearranged our things and rested for a couple days before heading out to Corvallis, OR to visit Elizabeth. She just started a Masters program at OSU in oceanography, and I figured this would be my last chance to see her before my wedding, which is far off.

We spent about two weeks in Oregon. Mostly, Keegan and I walked around the town, hung out in coffee shops, and took advantage of OSU's library. It was relaxing. Elizabeth was anxious about not being a good hostess, but we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Poor lady; she's totally overloaded with summer classes and research.

We were supposed to hear back from Twin Oaks about our membership decision ten days after we left. They were about a week late in getting back to us, which didn't help our nerves. We were accepted and, even better, there was a miraculous gap in the waiting list that meant we could move in right away!

Our journey back to DC was quite a trek. We took a Greyhound up to Portland, the MAX to the airport, two planes to BWI, a bus to the Greenbelt Metro station, two Metro trains to Vienna/Fairfax, and a CUE bus before we got to my parents' house. It took a long time, and we were tired.

Since then, we've spent time with my mother and with Keegan's family. I ordered some new glasses, including spiffy sunglasses. Keegan's sister and her family were in town, so we got to spend time with our little niece and nephew. They've headed back to Boston now. We're planning to bounce between our parents' houses before heading down to T.O. to move in.

We're moving to Twin Oaks exactly one week from today.
