Today is my day off. I've been reveling in the leisure time, but I've also been a bit bored. I think other people takes Sundays off, too-- where are they? Maybe they just sleep the whole time.

Rick has friends in from out of town guesting with him. They're punks and traveling kids, which is fun. I feel like it's been forever since I hung out with punks. One of them had a fun time with my mp3 player; I had forgotten that a lot of that stuff was on there. It's amazing what that little black box will do in the hands of someone else.

I'm lining up sit-down work for myself. I talked with Summer about working the desk. She says I probably won't get trained on it until October or so, which seems like a long way away right now. I talked with Biddy today about getting trained on accounting. Accounting! I mean, I kind of like fiddly number tasks on computers. I did enjoy my statistics classes, after all. I'll be starting on accounting next week. That's more like it.

After a long almost-draught, it's been raining on and off for the past three days. Unluckily, I put my laundry on the clothesline three days ago to dry. I'm still waiting for it to dry. I think if it rains tonight/tomorrow, I'll just give up and toss it in the drier. Sometimes nature doesn't want to cooperate with sustainability.

The social stuff that was stirred up at the Acorn party is still sorting itself out a bit. I'm excited about how things are going. I'm getting a lot closer with some of the people I connected with at the party. I like finding a place for myself.
