I managed to look at a clock at the beginning and end of my run today-- there's a first time for everything. Lo and behold, I'm actually running faster than I thought I was. How cool. I went 3.2 miles in 26 minutes, which comes to a pace of 8:08/mile.

I've been reading a lot about running lately. I think I'm going to focus for the next week or two on just getting in 3-4 runs a week. After that, I'm starting to get really excited about working in longer runs, doing some speed play, etc. I just subscribed to Runners World. I am totally starting to nerd out about this.

The kids in the first grade class were talking politics today.

"If Romney is elected, he's going to give the rich people a month when they don't have to pay taxes."
"Rich people pay, like, a dollar in taxes."

"Guys, guys, actually, I like Romney."
"TRAITOR!"

Yeah, I guess it's a pretty liberal area. Hearing first graders debate politics is fun. It also makes me wonder whether the average American has political opinions that are any better formed.
